Public Cruise 60 Minutes
We will leave from our dock at Eagle Landing State Park in Haddam and cruise south. You will see the Goodspeed Opera House, the East Haddam Swing Bridge and the Goodspeed Airport. On the way south, we will point out where there is a local eagle's nest and you will have a chance to view a very beautiful section of the pristine lower Connecticut River. During the cruise your Captain and crew will narrate about local history, point out areas of interest and inform you of the river’s flora and fauna. We may even see our resident Bald Eagles!
You will experience an area that has been labeled by The Nature Conservancy as "One of the Last Great Places" and also get a great view of Gillette Castle State Park, Connecticut's greatest tourist attraction and the Chester/Hadlyme Ferry, the second oldest operating ferry in the United States. This cruise is 60 minutes.

*We love having small groups of families, friends, co-workers, seniors, etc, on board. However, if you do come as a group, PLEASE be aware that this is a narrated cruise and that others on board want to hear Captain Mark and crew's wonderful narration. Large coolers of beverage and food to share are not allowed on this cruise. If you want to have a chatting/drinking gathering, please email us about booking an affordable Private Charters! Thanks.

Walk-ons are always welcome if we have not met our capacity! If we do meet our capacity, we will leave the dock before our scheduled departure.

Our cruises are comfortable, relaxing and affordable. This is a great cruise for family, relatives from out of town or just to come for river ride. Enjoy this beautiful, pristine river in our own backyard.
If you'd like, make the cruise easy, bring your lap style lunch, snack and/or any beverage with you.
Bring your camera and binoculars (we have a limited supply on board for loan) on all cruises, you never know what you'll see.
We will leave from our dock at Eagle Landing State Park in Haddam and cruise south towards the mouth of the Connecticut River. We will see the Goodspeed Opera House (located directly across the river) and the Goodspeed Airport. We may even see our resident Bald Eagles!
We will pass by Gillette Castle, one of Connecticut's main tourist attractions, the Chester/Hadlyme Ferry, the second oldest operating ferry in Connecticut and Mount Saint John's School for Boys in Deep River. Captain Mark and/or crew will tell you all about the castle, William Gillette, the ferry and Mount Saint John's.
There is seating for each individual aboard RiverQuest. Passengers can be out of the sun, wind, or drizzle in our cozy cabin area. Or sit or stand outside on our open stern or bow deck.
RiverQuest leaves the dock on time! Please check in at the dock at least ten minutes before departure.
NOTE: If we meet our capacity, we will leave the dock before our scheduled departure.
Parking: There is PLENTY of FREE parking. RiverQuest is normally docked on Dock #1. When you come in the park, go to parking lot #1, the first lot on the left.
Each season on The Connecticut River is beautiful:
Spring: Osprey and other migratory birds have returned, foliage is unfolding displaying lovely colors, warmth of the Sun! Come aboard our special Osprey/Eagle Cruise.
Summer: Cool breezes, Osprey and their hatchlings, resident Eagles and their babies. The river is alive! We also offer Sunset Cruises most evenings. Different price, see Sunset Cruise page.
Fall: The crisp air, beautiful foliage colors, serene river. Special Foliage Cruises.
Winter: (different price and cruise length) See Eagle Cruise page, many wintering birds, an enjoyable, tranquil time to be on the river.
Note: The Captain reserves the right to change the cruise itinerary or cancel a cruise anytime he feels that there may be a weather or safety issue.
Special Kid's Cruise:
Our special one hour "Kid's Cruise" Select Saturday mornings at 10:00am to 11:00am.
Ticket price is $5 for kids 2 to 12, $10 for 13 to 100, under 2 is free. No booking online for this cruise, strictly walk-on, cash only.
Adults must have a child with them.....

RiverQuest also has educational cruises available.
- Our normal daytime Educational Cruise is a 90 minute cruise on the lower Connecticut River. The cost would be $15 for student age with a minimum of 20.
If you have less than 20, the cost would be $300 for RiverQuest to leave the dock.
If have more than 20, the cost would be $300 plus $15 for each additional person for up to 50 students.
- During this 90 minute cruise we educate all on the bird life, plant life, ecology and geology of the lower Connecticut River.
